Filming has already wrapped on the
Jet Li / Jackie Chan team-up project 'The Forbidden Kingdom', and now the post-production has moved to Korea for special effects. The production is already crossing many borders, using a US director and producers, Hong Kong cinematographer Peter Pau, and a primarily Asian cast (most notably Li and Chan, but also Collin Chou and Li Bing Bing), and filmed at the Hengdian Studios outside of Shanghai, so its not a surprise that they chose to go with an Asian special effects house to help with post-production.
Korea's FX houses are amongst the best in Asia, recently producing effects laden monster films like 'The Host' and 'D-War'.
In this case the film is a fantasy story about an American youth who is transported back in time to ancient China and meets characters out of the fable 'The Monkey King'. It is aiming for a release by Spring 2008.
