'Lust, Caution' leads Tony Leung and Tang Wei are both frontrunner for awards themselves. In 'Best Actor' category, Leung is competing with past winner Aaron Kwok ('The Detective') and Tang is going against Joan Chen who was also in 'Lust, Caution', but is nominated for another film, ' The Home Song Stories' in this category. Tang has a chance for a second award, as she is also nominated in the 'Best Newcomer' category as well. 'Lust Caution' and its actors are nominated in a total of 12 categories, the first since Ang Lee's international hit 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon' in 2000.
Ang Lee is also nominated in the Golden Horses' 'The Outstanding Taiwanese Filmmaker of the Year'... but in this case he faces stiff competition from first time filmmaker and pop music super star Jay Chou.
