The film is directed by Alexi Tan and stars Wu, Hsu Chi, Chang Chen and Liu Ye and is set in 1930's Shanghai. Wu, Chang and Liu play three childhood friends who leave their humble beginnings in the countryside in search of fortune in the big city. It marks the first time Woo is producing a film for another director and the first time Alexi Tan has taken the helm of a full length feature, his best known work to date is Jay Chou's popular music video for the song 'Double Sword' ('Shuang Dao'). The film has already garnered international attention, when it was selected to be the closing film for the Venice International Film Festival in September.
