Challenges keep Xu Jinglei Alive

A movie director and a top blogger, elegant Chinese actress Xu Jinglei is a known female talent in China's movie industry. In her latest movie "Shinjuku Incident", Xu plays the role of a China woman, wife to a Yakuza (Japanese mafia) boss. Xu's role in the movie speaks fluent Japanese after years of living in Japan. She hired two tutors for intensive lessons to help cope with her lines in the script, a challenge she accepted readily. Having directed her own movies and running a popular blog, Xu felt that writing gives her a great sense of satisfaction while acting is more passive and something that she has to adapt to. "Shinjuku Incident" has been showing in theatres island-wide since April 2 and has broken the 100 million dollars box-office results in just five days.
