Director Shim Hyung-rae might have struck out with his movie 1999 monster movie 'Yonggary', but now thanks to cutting edge CGI, he's ready to try again with 'D-War' - an ambitious Korean production filmed using mostly US actors and locations. 'D-War' is set in modern day Los Angeles when a demonic horde of Chosun Dynasty-era Korean monsters invade.
This production has also had a lot of difficulty getting to the box office, Shim has reportedly worked on it since 2000 and filming was finished in 2005, but with so many CG effects, the budget has swelled to US$70 million, the most expensive Korean film to date. It is schedule for an August release in Korea and a September release in the US.
