Action star Donnie Yen has agreed to star in a super natural action film titled 'Painted Skin', set to film at the end of this year in China. A coproduction between the Mainland, Singapore and Hong Kong, the film will be jointly directed by Wilson Yip ('Dragon Tiger Gate') and Andy Chin('Dragon Chronicles') and based on the Chinese folk story collection Strange Tales of
Liaozhai, which has been adapted for film several times before, including King Hu's 1991 version also titled 'Painted Skin'.
