Trying to fill Kurosawa's shoes will be director Higuchi Shinji, who's most recent film is the 2006 remake of 'The Sinking of Japan' -- a famous Japanese disaster picture from 1973.
The male and female leads will be Abe Hiroshi and Nagasawa Masami respectively.
