The concept behind 'Unplugged' is inviting famous artists to perform an entirely acoustic set of songs for a live audience. The show first appeared in the USA in 1989 and has since featured top acts such as Nirvana, Eric Clapton, Alicia Keys, etc. MTV has held overseas 'Unplugged' events several times in foreign markets, including Shakira in South America and Utada Hikaru in Japan.
The China 'Unplugged' events will be organized as a traveling tour to multiple cities. The first event will feature pop star Pu Shu and will be held on December 15th in Beijing, followed by duo Yu Quan on December 22nd in Shanghai.
