Shanghai Film Fest to Screen Shaw Actioners

The famous Shaw Studios are credited with making Hong Kong known as "Oriental Hollywood" with their blockbuster action films. To help fans recollect these films, the upcoming Shanghai International Film Festival will devote a special section of the event to Shaw Studios.

On the screening list are seven classic Shaw films, including "One-Armed Swordsman" (1967), from which director Quentin Tarantino found ideas for a remake; "The Blood Brothers" (1973), the inspiration of last year's most lucrative film, "The Warlords"; "The 36th Chamber of Shaolin" (1978), which is widely regarded as one of the greatest kung-fu films of all time.

The Shanghai International Film Festival, a major event for the Asian film industry, will take place from June 14 to 22.
