Charlie On the Wrong Side 31st May 2010

We have lost communication with Charlie for couple of weeks, no phone no internet access. We were only able to use SPOT to track Charlie.

Finally we have some interesting update, I wish I was there to experience. AlivenotDead has been travelling with Charlie. Can you find Alivenotdead logo on Charlie's car?



This is what Charlie had to say:

If you find yourself staying at the Ou Ya Eur Asia Hotel in Erenhot, visit the 2nd floor KTV den and ask mamasan for my beers.  Because of some random lady who threw darts into a rotating wheel, I managed to win 6 bottles which I never quite finished or worked out how I won.

The KTV main event, a mixture of a Mongolian fashion parade, dirty dancing and some kind of Cirque du Dinosaur show, all done to thumping house music and green lasers with hardly anybody watching was definitely entertaining.  Macau watch out!

Why am I still here?  June 1st is apparently Children’s Holiday, and the consulate staff decided to take an early break and head to Beijing.  I am therefore marooned here until they re-open on the 2nd.

But the good news is that the Dino Park found me!  Located some 7kms out of town, its the actual place where they discovered the remains of Gigantoraptor erlianensis, some kind of giant bird as well as other pretty cool finds including eggs.   As with most Chinese tourist attractions, there is some naff stuff including a massive ‘Dinosaur Fairyland’ sign written on a nearby hill.
