Red Bull Racing set to burn tires on Lung Wo Road.
Saturday,
18 June, Lung Wo Road. Those are all the details needed for an
appointment with the current World Formula One Champions – Red Bull
Racing in The Red Bull Dragon Run Hong Kong (presented by 7-Eleven). The
date is set, the team is ready and it promises to be a memorable day
for Hong Kong as well as the racing scene...
The F1 car will be driven by current Formula One driver for the Scuderia Torro Rosso team, Jaime Alguesuari.
The
Red Bull Dragon Run Hong Kong event will last about an hour. The public
can expect manoeuvres such as short sprints, burnouts, engine breaks
and donuts, which one won’t get to see often in actual F1 races. The
performance area will be along the stretch of Lung Wo Road, the stretch
between the IFC and the Wanchai Convention Centre. Crowds upwards of
40,000 spectators are expected to line the estimated 600m stretch. A
series of pre-event activations can also be expected in the lead up to
the event. To round up the motorsports extravaganza, super bike and
drift show demonstrations, high speed car formations will also be
organised & played out before the Red Bull Racing F1 car roars to
life, making the event a real motor racing extravaganza.
The Red
Bull racing team will be in town from 15 June and a series of pre-event
activation is lined up in the run-up to the event. On 16 June
(Thursday), the Red Bull Formula One car will make its appearances in
locations around town (to surprise people, the locations will not be
disclosed before hand) that may give the average Hong Konger a view they
don't see every day. On 15 and 17 June, it will spend a day being
displayed in The World Trade Centre and in front of a selected 7-Eleven
store at Patterson Street, Causeway Bay.
There will also be
festivities to entice motorsports enthusiasts as the Red Bull Dragon Run
mobile showroom makes it way around town, offering them a chance to
play the Red Bull Racing simulator and win official Red Bull Racing
products.
Entrance to the event is free and spectators can be
promised an unforgettable day for motor-heads or just someone looking
for an adrenalin-fuelled weekend.
