This is a bit overdue, but after our event wrapped, there was separation from state for a few weeks as it was completely necessary.  Not the day after, but about a week after Frexh ended on Aug 7th, I took off with my friend who came out from NYC to help me run things for a jaunt around Hong Kong and some Southeast Asia countries.  I'd been to a lot of these places, but it was my friend's first time, so it was cool helping him see new things and meet new friends.  I got to see some spots in Thailand for the first time as well as Penang (where I met an AnD artist of all places) as well as Cambodia.  I always love exploring new lands.

While that was fun and good and we need the R&R for a bit to recover from what was about 2 months of non-stop round the clock production, it hasn't removed me any from the happenings of Frexh and all that we had.

    What can I say?

    I'm alive.

    Not dead.

And really, isn't that what this site is all about?  Making stuff.  Creating.  Innovating.  Presenting.  Being alive.  Not dead.

Now, I think I get it.

Well, Frexh went down and the short of it is, yes, I would do it again and the plan right now in fact is to.  The long of it is, and there is not enough room on this blog to give the long of it, there would need to be many changes put in place.

I was told that this blog is not a place to flame people.  I'm going to resist the urge to do that.  And by that, I will say that it's of AnD artists.  I want to share the story - oh, I really do, but I want to keep it clean here too.  Maybe I will in a separate post, but today, in a full month plus out from the event, after having gotten away to clear my head, there are people and things that happened that tick me off.

Anyone who thinks everyone out there is hugs and kisses, warm, receptive, appreciative, humble people who are going places or even deserve to go places is entirely wrong.

And that said, I do wish to highlight the fact that Frexh Shanghai went over really well with the city!  Thank you AnD for helping to promote the event!  The culinary creations everyone was privy to were extraordinary, our sponsors came through in big ways, many of our musical maestros were masterful, and fashion brands were on fire!  Our volunteers and people who helped make everything happen were simply unbelievable.  We were literally running 24/7 in the days leading up to the big weekend, but collectively we did it!

Surf on over to www.frexh.com to see the wrap up video.  (Also, a late to the game interview with Ni Hao Kai-lan creator Karen Chau who will be exhibiting her art in New York City in late October for any of you NYC'ers.)

A lot of blood, sweat, and tears, and plenty of goodness that went around.  Here's to hopefully, many more years of them.....of being alive.  Not dead.
