In-depth interview in ASIANCE Magazine

For anyone interested, an interview of me, by Edmund Moy, for ASIANCE Magazine has just been posted online:

If they are not able to make these changes, here are two corrections regarding the PBS pilot, MY LIFE DISORIENTED (MLD):

1) The writer of MLD is Claire Yorita Lee.

2) I did view MLD at the Hawaii International Film festival.

Also, my apologies to the producers of MLD (Di Quon, Eric Byler, Clare Yorita and Co.), if it sounds at all like the show is shoddy or unprofessional, which was not my intention. I was wanting to note, when we think of TV, most of us are used to prime-time network shows, which often have multi-millions of bucks to spend, per episode. MLD had probably 1/100th of that, and I meant only to point out that inspite of this difference, they made it, and made it work. Like an indie film project, the producers worked with what they had, and did so amazingly. I did not mean to imply that the show was not professionally done, in any way.

Still no definitive word on the release date for AMERICANESE, though I expect that theatrically it may play only in New York City and in Los Angeles. However, the release plan for IFC First Take, which is the distributor, is "day and date," meaning it will also be available through video-on-demand on Comcast Cable on the same date as its theatrical release (thereby making it available to a much wider audience outside of these two cities).
