The death toll from the devastating earthquake in southwest China's Sichuan Province rose to 67,183 nationwide as of noon on May 27, according to the Information Office of the State Council.
In Sichuan Province alone, 66,674 people have been confirmed dead and another 350,133 people injured as of May 26 evening.
As of the morning of May 28, 185 aftershocks measuring four or above on the Richter scale had been monitored in China, according to the China Seismological Bureau, including 30 aftershocks measuring above magnitude five, and five above magnitude six.
The Earthquake Response Command Team of Heifer China decided to deliver more relief materials to Pingwu County where we have two existing projects and Guangyuan City where one Heifer project is being implemented. All the supplies were in response to the real needs of local people after contact was made with our local partners and volunteers stationed there.
