Just got back from Venice where I got to see The Banquet for the first time. I really enjoyed the movie and it is probably one of my favorite movies to date. Now we are on a whirlwind promotion schedule that lasts the whole month. I am in Beijing now where the film will premiere tomorrow. Then to Shanghai on the 10th for another premiere. Back to Hong Kong on the 11th to get ready for the Hong Kong premiere on the 12th. Then we are off to Taiwan on the 13th and Singapore on the 14th. Then on the 20th, we will be off to South Korea. Needless to say it's going to be a rough month!!
After all of this I will begin immediately preparing for my next movie which begins filming in October."Blood Brothers" will also be starring Chang Chen, Liu Ye and Shu Qi. This should be a fun project because I have been good friends with Chang Chen for many years but we have never had the chance to work together till now. Also this is a 1930's Shanghai gangster movie, which is a subject I am very personally interested in because I am Shanghainese. My father and grandfather lived through those times and it sounded like an incredible era.
Anyway, I'm off to snoop around the forums and then off to bed. Got a full day tomorrow!
