  I have to apologize about the month-long gap between posts but I just got back from New York City, where we just finished shooting the first part of the feature film, "Supercapitalist".  We have a couple weeks to decompress and finalize all the details for the Hong Kong portion of the shoot before we jump back into it!
  
  
  This film has been 3 years in the making and so far it has been a fantastic journey, more of which I will blog in greater detail at a later date.
  
  
  For now, I will talk about some of the highlights of the NYC trip and maybe slip in a couple behind-the-scenes shot on set =)
  
  
  NEW YORK CITY
  
  
  
  
  
  It has been about a year since I've been back to New York and the circumstances of coming back could not have been better.  It was in New York that I went to film school and began this journey and to be able to return to shoot a film makes it all come full circle.
  
  
  
  
  
  Some things have changed, while other things have not (Like no more Virgin Megastores in Times Square and Union Square!!!).  Only after a couple days did I get right back into the swing of things, NYC-style.
  
  
  I started to remember my subway routes and street names, subconsciously being guided by my internal compass.
  
  
  Coming back I'm reminded why I still love this city and I hope to be able to return more often.
  
  
  INCEPTION
  
  
  
  
  
  One of the things that immediately caught my eye was the massive ad campaign for Inception, one of my most highly anticipated movies of the year.
  
  
  They must have spent MUCHO dollars on this because nearly EVERY bus stop, phone booth, billboard or subway wall was plastered with something Inception.  And I have to say whoever did these posters did a fantastic job.
  
  
  The imagery is just AWESOME.
  
  
  
  
  
  BUT the ones that really stuck in my mind are these two that I saw around 38th St. & 9th Ave., possible the MOST creative posters I have EVER seen:
  
  
  
  
  
  They used THE WHOLE BUILDING WALL!!!
  
  
  That is just incredible and if you don't want to see the movie after seeing that, then there's something wrong with you =)
  
  
  Suffice to say, I was able to watch the movie on opening weekend, several weeks before its Hong Kong opening and I was not disappointed.  This is one I will DEFINITELY see again.
  
  
  SUPERCAPITALIST
