It's a great memory for us.. We are so honor and glad to represent HK to join the Asian Grand Final..
This trip was more than a competition, it's like a Music Camp, We all representatives from difference counties live in same 5 stars hotel.. We eat together, play together, share music and share life ...etc
This year, we had 9 bands come from 8 countries (India, Taiwan "2 bands", Philippines, Singapore, Indonesia, Hong Kong and Mongolia) , they all so nice and friendly. have fun.. .. They all are great bands, super high level....especially Philippines, Singapore and Indonesia, they are my favorite.
Philippines "NACLS": They all are Christians, in the first day, they came to us, and said "We are your brothers", I'm so happy to see this powerful Christians band, we are working on same vision in our own country. they sound like "Still , Micah 68" ..Love them
Singapore "Saywhale": They sound like linkin Park, and with good message, their song is talking about Kids should grow in love
Indonesia "Detik" : they sound like "Incubus", all members are studying in some Music School, so they all are very skillful.. Their vocal is awesome, their drummer is a Christian, the others are Muslims.. I chat with him so much.
Nathan East(bassist of "fourplay" and Patti Ballinas (Spain female drummer) both are the judge. Nathan East is one of my favorite bass player, I can't imagine we can had a dinner with him and Patti, so close and chat with them . Patti is a groove drummer, she is not a technical type drummer, she always playing drum with smile, I am please to see her play drum.
Luckily, we have got the 2nd price of Asian Beat Grand Final. And Jimmy, again, got the best drummer award. Kubo got the best keyboard player, actually we never think we can get any award. Our song is so simply, not a technical type. I also ask Jesus why we can got it. At the end. I understand, no matter how good we play, or how bad we play, if Jesus is use us, It must be powerful and touching people.
After the show, many people came to us and said " your song is so touching me, you sing so well" even Nathan East and Patti Ballinas said that also. This is unbelievably, I sing so well? Is it a joke? Thanks god...
Thanks for everyone who are supporting empty tomb. Thanks Tomlee for those beautiful Yamaha guitars, thanks Yamaha for giving us this great chance and pay for the air ticket and hotel. Thanks for Keith, he is Tomlee staff and is our leader, he is so experienced in Guitar, we learnt so much from him.
