I saw the Rosebuds at the Great American Music Hall in SF on June 12th. My friend Samir is a big fan and recommended them to me a long time ago but I'd only been able to listen to their album once. The main band members are a husband and wife duo from Raleigh, North Carolina who have a trendy 80's, folksy sound that reminds me of James, one of my favorites out of the Manchester music scene. The show was one of the better ones I've been to (the last one being Apples in Stereo at the Independent of which I only remember being drunk as a dog). The venue was far from sold out and it was pretty easy to get up close and personal while grabbing a beer every so often without having to push and shove. Mosh pits are sometimes fun, but it's also nice to kick back to good music also.
