I don't know why I can't stop watching this music video. I'm not a big fan of big dance routines but it's gloriously celebratory and technically astounding. And whenever I hear the song, these images pop into my mind.

wow, i loved that video. it was like a living painting. so rarely in this modern age do you actually see a film which truly takes advantage of the actual medium of film, in its expansiveness (literally), color and vitality. i never watch films -- precisely, because they're never like that video. thank you for sharing!

I heard the song many times before a friend showed me the video. When I first watched it was nothing like what I imagined the music video would be. I wasn't sure I liked it but it stuck in my brain because it was so strange and vibrant and I wanted to watch it again and again. Finding things like that are great: the unexpected that tickle your brain and don't let go. I love the music vid. And yeah it's like Busby Berkeley meets GAP ad meets a drum circle in Berkeley.

huh I have to say I expected a weird type of video when she first came out and it erupted into this feel good..hippie thing...I don't know how to describe it but you just want to make your body go limp and sway around haha. It kind of reminded me of a gap commercial - I can't imagine how difficult it was to figure out that routine.

Ha. You director types ALWAYS go for the "that was just one long shot, no cuts..." That's hard enough with just one person....wonder how many times they rehearsed/shot this.

That was Busby Berkeley goes organic. Great fun.

Eric Lin is a graduate of NYU's Tisch School of the Arts Graduate Film Program. MUSIC PALACE, his Student Academy Award nominated short documentary, has screened at numerous film festivals worldwide, including the prestigious New Directors/New Films Festival in New York, the Telluride Film Festival, the Clermont Ferrand Short Film Festival and is now airing on the Independent Film Channel. His latest narrative short film, WHAT REMAINS, was awarded the Caucus Foundation Student Production Grant as well as the Warner Bros. Pictures Film Production Award, and is busy traveling among the film festival circuit. In 2003, he won the Asian American International Screenplay Competition for his script, KILGORE. His work has received support from the C.V. Starr Institute, the Oppenheimer New Filmmakers Grant, and New York State Council for the Arts. In addition to directing high-end industrials and broadcast promos, he freelances as a cinematographer and editor. He recently won the Vague Production Award for his feature film project, WHY WE PULL THE TRIGGER.
