Robert Deniro plays the character of Travis Bickle, a Vietnam veteran who drives a taxi in order to survive. Unable to sustain his sanity through the filth and grime of New York city and its lowlifes who make up his customers, Travis goes on a homicidal rampage. With the inability to make relationships as a person, Travis consequently ends up psychotic.
