A majority of the songs which are placed on television commercials are a repeat of the same canned material exuding the odors of mass commerce, mainstream, and overuse. I’m talking Rolling Stones or Chemical Brothers or Moby which they use to make it appeal to the masses, but end of inducing vomit in the mouths of any music aficionado.
But once in a while, you run across a great song that opens you up to a new artist. And that, however rare, makes it still worth watching TV commercials. At least during the Superbowl or big events where advertisers will have a stake in compelling ad spots.
