TWIN CITY SUCKERS

Twin City Hip Hop Scene may quite actually surpass my love of the Chicago Hip Hop Scene (which up until now, i thought was impossible to do). The Doom Tree collective is a group of Minneapolis rappers and producers (most notably P.O.S. of the Rhymesayers) that have recently come together to produce one hell of a collab CD.  It’s gritty. Really gritty man.  I love it when a bunch of talented artists come together to form a super group.  They’ve just released their first self titled CD- Doom Tree- as well as a DVD with performance/video footage.  Check out the cuts “Drum Sticks” and “Dots and Dashes”

P.O.S. of the Rhymesayers has previously worked with Atmosphere, Brother Ali, Gym Class Heroes and become quite the name by himself. He’s got a new CD  too (it’s like one HUGE blitz of music from their camp)-”Never Better” and is on a national tour (more info at myspace.com/pos) with some of the artists from their collective.  Check out “P.O.S. is ruining my life” a song from an earlier cd…Here’s some footage of him performing it. WHILE ON THE SUBJECT. Atmosphere is about to re-release the critically acclaimed “God Love’s Ugly” CD with a bonus DVD (the cd has been out of print for a while).  He’s on tour with Brother Ali (COME TO SAN DIEGO GUYS).  I picked up his latest CD, “When Life gives you Lemons…” a bit ago.  Features one of my all time favorite tracks “The Waitress” Do yourself a favor and youtube it.
