So I'm sitting on my computer chair at 6 in the morning, though I'd rather be in bed - sleeping. Unfortunately, insomnia's got the best of me... and so has the flu. And I have it bad. Well I must be getting better after all since I no longer lie in bed, asleep or awake, often not knowing which one I am, AND I'm able to blog on Alivenotdead.com with something KIND OF interesting to say.
My journey getting here has actually been quite eventful. At 4:00 a.m, I woke up and took a couple of Paracetamols. I attempted to get back to sleep straight after only to find myself an hour later on my laptop, reading completely random shit without questioning why. Open up my Google search history and you'll find some really really random things. How great. Plus, I feel like a recovering heroin junkie. (Yes, this is how they must feel).
What I've said so far really has nothing to do with what I'm about to say.
Success and passion. The two, in my opinion, are directly proportional. Simply, succeeding really just comes down to how badly you want something. Success is probably one of the most interesting things ever. There are millions of definitions of success in dictionaries that each say basically the same thing. I mean, you can ask 50 different people what success means and they might passively say the following:
- The gaining of fame or prosperity: an artist spoiled by success.
- The extent of such gain.
But subconsciously, that person has feelings for success that outweigh those of a 12 year old girl for Edward Cullen or Zak Efron by 1000 times. Everyone finds their own success in different things. Passion is the drive that makes you see no other possible option but to get there!
The mind is a powerful thing. There have been numerous cases of people wandering into forests, staying there for a decade or two, only to come back with the most philosophical words anyone can write. Heck, being sick at home for over 50 hours got me writing this long blog entry!
At the end of the day, people who repeatedly said, 'you can get anywhere you want if you set your mind to it' pissed me off. They were annoying because they simply weren't convincing enough. They were simply regurgitating words they had heard elsewhere, probably from an inspiring speech or an Eminem lyric. That meant nothing to me.
But after seeing what I've seen. Hearing those every day stories of men who succeeded because their high testosterone levels simply did not let them let go, I know that is definitely true!
Bottom line: Success is possible for anyone so long as they have the passion to get them there.
