Artists Join Hands to Support the Heroes2 Stars Contest
Heroes2, a social enterprise and fast-growing community dedicating to encouraging, connecting and channelling individual participation to combat environmental threats, is organizing the Heroes2 Stars Contest for which the application stage has just been completed.
The contest is aimed at selecting thee young men and three young women who have talent and a passion for the environment, to join local actress-model and Heroes2 Ambassador JuJu Chan, forming a group of environmental stars. The Heroes2 Stars will be role models and icons for environmental responsibility, delivering environmental messages and building awareness through music, TV, events and the media.
“The strong response and environmental vision of the young people who have signed up to take part in the Heroes2 Stars Contest is very encouraging. I am looking forward to the first meeting with the contestants at the interviews this Saturday, as well as the up-coming environmental day camp and workshops,” said Juju.
As Heroes2's first Ambassador JuJu participated in the organization's tree planting project at the Heroes2 Lashi Village site in the basin of the Dongjiang (East River) earlier this year. She is also receiving strong supports from enthusiastic celebrities who are also lending a hand for the Heroes2 Stars Contest, including artist Vinci Wong and singer Enrico Kwong.
Vinci, who will share the Emcee role with JuJu as at the Heroes2 Stars Contest final on 3 October 2010, said: “We've been bonded together by this meaningful event. I first became acquainted with Juju through Facebook and we chatted a lot on environmental saving ideas before meeting up in person. You know, we both like pack-and-go for meal leftovers!”
This is also the first time that Enrico and JuJu are working together. “I'm honored to be invited by JuJu to help with the Heroes2 Stars Contest. She is so supportive and dedicated to getting the message across to the community that we can all play a role in creating a sustainable future for humanity. I hope more young people will join Heroes2 to make a change for the better,” said Enrico.
The screening and training stages of Heroes2 Stars Contest will be carried on from now till the competition's final round, which will be held on Sunday, 3 October 2010, 3:30pm at Dragon Centre, Shamshuipo.
