• To the Inspiring Actors, Directors and Writers of Hong Kong

  Well, you all did it again.  I  had such an amazing time teaching workshops in Hong Kong this May. 

   

  Watching you actors, directors and writers in Hong Kong grow is a true pleasure for me.   When Jason and I decided to bring my acting workshops to Hong Kong we wanted to support the artistic community that Jason described to me.  It is exciting every time I come back to Hong Kong to see how much each artist has grown.  And hearing about every ones’ projects is fantastic.

   

  I look forward to the questions actors and directors bring to me.  I encourage all of you to let me know what you are thinking about, facing in your work and wanting to know better techniques to solve your acting dilemmas. 

   

  And you all have done just that!  

   

  I think returning students will agree with me that everyone who came back again just keeps growing and growing in their work.  I love that students challenge themselves even more and yes are tougher on themselves.  I have always believed the best actors and directors and writers are those who are tougher on themselves - more than anyone else.  Why?  Because it means you keep growing and learning and improving.

   

  All of you were so inspiring this time in the workshops.  I only wish we had more time.  The two day PRO workshops and the one day Open workshop saw so much growth from day to day and scene to scene.  Many of you were able to take your acting skills beyond where I even thought you were ready to go!  Good for you! 

   

  The Directors’ Lab was truly amazing.  Watching the directors and the actors learn how to better communicate with each other and understand from each other better.  I have always thought this is the best of our community at work.  I hope you continue to practice together and support each other as you grow in your acting and directing skills. 

   

  I hope all of you stay in touch with me and let me know what you are working on. 

   

  Thank you for your trust in me and most of all your trust and belief in yourself.
