Keep On Movin'

Recently, two wonderful things have happened in my life.

Firstly, I am paying greater attention to my health by being more conscious of my diet and being more active. I'm not a person who is particularly fussy about diet and exercise and all that kind of thing, but lately I've been more conscious for a few reasons.

One of them is health-related in that I've been suffering from bad migraines, twice in the past 2 months or so, and each time the doctor took my blood pressure and it is a little higher than usual, so he has asked me to be more wary of my health, as I could be borderline hypertensive.

Another reason I've been paying greater attention to diet and exercise is that I see how my worklife could benefit from it. I can have more energy to do more and be more. And the fact is that people who are more attractive do come across as being more confident, and may even be seen as being more capable in what they do, whether that is really true or not. For me, that would be a real boost, as I am already good at what I do... no harm in making it seem even better by improving my personal presentation and spicing up the packaging a little.

Yet another reason, and probably the most important one yet, is that I've been inspired by being here at AnD and seeing how everyone takes such good care of themselves. In particular, it has to do with the fact that I recently met and am working with an AnD artist, and the strangest thing happened. I know he's gonna probably get a chuckle out of this, but we met over lunch, and he had just finished a run before meeting me. We got a table and sat down, and I started ordering. Without going into too many details, let's just say that I somehow lost my appetite that day. I was not able to finish my Foccacio bread with Ham and Cheese fillings, which is unusual for me, 'cos I'm usually a good eater.

Then, the second time we met, it's at this incredible combative sports facility gym called Fightworks Asia, and he's introducing me to a few people there that I'll also be working with. And oh my goodness, these guys are all sooo damned fit!! I'm more of a lover than a fighter, but being there made me wanna go pick up muay thai and boxing and wrestling and what have you... haha! It was such an awesome place, and the people there, just as awesome, if not even more so. So I guess I have to say a big thank you to him for bringing me there. I loved the place to bits! :-)

The 4th and final reason is that I've been fortunate enough to have the chance to go to Taiwan with my Star Wars pals, and this trip will be partially sponsored, but there is a condition attached... I must dress up in my white Padme battlesuit, the outfit she wears in Attack Of The Clones. Now I haven't worn my costume in awhile, 'cos it is quite figure-hugging and lately, I'm not all that sure I have a figure to show, so I've stopped dressing up as Padme for some time now. But for the sake of this trip and being partially sponsored to go for it, Padme will have to come out of the wardrobe again, and I'm gonna have to get in fighting fit shape to become her again... I mean, gosh, it's not easy trying to live up to Natalie Portman, ya know! Doesn't matter whether you're an actress or not... haha!

Which brings me to another wonderful thing that's happening right now... this trip to Taiwan which is gonna happen from 24 to 28 Oct 2008! :-)

I've wanted to visit Taiwan for some time now, but something or the other always got in the way... ever since I started this job about 3+ years back, I've not been able to travel much, except for one weekend trip to Kuala Lumpur maybe, which was back in 2006... but other than that, nada, zip, zilch, zero. It was either I had the money and no time, or I had the time but no money. But this time, because I still have leave to clear, and because this trip is partially sponsored, I find myself having both the time and money, so I've booked myself a return plane ticket to Taipei, and I'm going! :-)

I'm excited about all this new stuff that's happening right now... being more healthy and visiting Taiwan is something I am really looking forward to.

OK OK, before I go I just HAVE to mention this here... I've been watching Andy On movies quite a bit lately... partly doing my homework for my next blog entry, and partly because I've never watched some of these movies before... and without saying too much to spoil my next blog entry, let's just say that I particularly enjoyed watching "Mad Detective" and "Black Mask 2".
