I realise that lately I seem to be blogging quite a lot about other people and other people's works and so on, but I haven't really written anything truly personal for awhile now, so I thought I'd do this today.

Chinese New Year is coming up soon... New Year's Eve will be tomorrow, Sunday 25 Jan 2009, and in Singapore, the first 2 days of the Chinese New Year are considered public holidays. This year, the first day is on Monday 26 Jan 2009, and the second day is on Tuesday 27 Jan 2009. Chinese New Year is celebrated according to a lunar calendar.

I've been pretty busy at work the past week, preparing Chinese New Year cards to mail out to clients, and preparing bags of Mandarin Oranges to deliver to bigger clients, and of course, our biggest clients get hampers.

The bags of Mandarin Oranges, I have to deliver in person, but the hampers are delivered by someone else. So the last 2 days, I've been running around to various places visiting various people, bringing Chinese New Year greetings to clients. Tired, but happy :-)

Today, I have to do some sprincleaning at home, and tomorrow, my family will be getting together at my aunt's place for a BIG family dinner! Tomorrow, my Mom is also having some church friends come over for lunch. They can't come over for the first and second days of the Chinese New Year, 'cos this year, everyone in my family is going to spend the Chinese New Year holiday in Malacca, Malaysia. It's the place my Mom was born in.

I'm the only one not going with them, 'cos I've been to Malacca a few times already, and I just don't see a point in going again, so I volunteered to stay home and hold the fort, so to speak. I thought I'd save them a bit on travel expenses, plus someone will be at home to take care of the aquarium fish (we have discus and chiclids) and the cat. Yeah, I'll be home alone, but it will be a nice change from what we usually do every year, which is have a ton of people come over to our place on the first day of the New Year, then go around visiting all our relatives on the second day of the New Year.

Instead, I'm hoping I'll be able to spend time with friends this year. Don't think there are any firm plans yet, but probably something will come up at the last minute.

Yeah, I know I said I'll have a few more blogs out before the Chinese New Year comes around, but it looks like real life is getting in the way again... so I guess those blogs will just have to wait till after the festivities are over and done with... or if I'm not doing anything while my family is away, you just might see a few more new blogs on the first and second day of the New Year... I dunno if it'll happen or not... but hey, if it does, it does.

OK, some good news... I've been rather inspired lately, and 9 days ago, I started eating more sensibly and being more active... have lost about 2kgs so far, and feelin' good :-)

Hopefully, I don't give in too much to festive eating... and even if I do, hopefully I'll find the time to go work off all those extra calories... but yeah, it just seems easier to NOT eat in the first place... LOL! :-p

Alrighty, that's all the time I have for blogging now.

@ Miss S: Haha! Not so simple... my kitty is a fussy eater, he will only eat chicken... which kinda reminds me of someone I've been hanging out with lately... hmmmmmm

I'm a Nonya (Peranakan lady) with a mixture of Hakka and Peranakan Teochew on my Dad's side of the family, and Peranakan Hokkiens on my Mom's side of the family, and I'm proud of my rather unique heritage.

I've been told that my talents lie in writing, music & interpersonal relations... I can get along with most people, and my friends have always been an eclectic mix of folks... I believe that it is key to have respect for others, and to be mindful of yourself.

Being born in the Year Of The Rabbit, I like harmony, living in harmony with others, and being in harmonious situations.

But also being a Leo, it doesn't mean that I don't have fangs and claws.

Other than an intense passion for music, and an appreciation for all kinds of arts in general... I love Star Wars!!!
