What's up, Deadheads? Hope '09 is treating you well? For me it seems to be flying by! I'm trying to get "Akira's Hip Hop Shop" into production along with new projects so I haven't had a lot of time to update the blog. I think AHHS has the potential to be one of the first films of the "Obama Age" with its post-racial themes and, judging by the response, many of you agree.

A few prominent Hollywood players have contacted me about helping to produce the feature. Nothing concrete to report, but the future looks bright. Heck, with "Slumdog Millionaire" (a music infused film starring people of color) cleaning up at the Oscars and hip-hop showing its might at the box office (from the "Step Up" series to "Notorious") the time seems ripe for a film like ours.

There are several business models to make the film at different budgets. I just finished a new rewrite of the feature script, which takes the story to places that even surprised me! As always, serious investors are welcome to contact me about funding opportunities.
