Les Tso is hosting a German Riesling Soiree on Friday, July 25, from 6-9 p.m. at Dee Vine Wines, Pier 19, The Embarcadero, San Francisco. $20 advance admission ($25 at the door, space permitting) includes more than 15 tastings, light food and the chance to win a bottle of 2007 Schmitges Erdener Treppchen Spatlese. What’s the deal with terms like Trocken, QbA, Noble, Kabinett, Botrytis, Auslese, and of course, the tongue twisting Trockenbeerenauslese? Why does Riesling pair so well with Asian cuisines?” writes Les on his Evite.
