    Between May 22 and June 15, the Seattle International Film Festival showed more than 400 films. The Drummer came in the top five audience favorites. The other films were Captain Abu Raed, Cherry Blossoms: Hanami, Frozen River and Fugitive Pieces (in alphabetical order). Along with The Drummer, both Frozen River and Captain Abu Raed were selections in this year's Sundance Film Festival.

    I was in Seattle for four days for the Seattle International Film Festival. On the first day, Bao (Tran Quoc Bao), director of the short film Bookie, drove me around...



    The first Starbucks store, founded nearby in 1971, moved to its present location at Pike Place Market in 1976. It’s right next to the Farmer’s Market...
    

    


    They shot Sleepless in Seattle at this restaurant in the Farmer’s Market.

    Then Bao took me Post Alley...

    
    
    
    The wall is covered by thousands of chewing gums. Apparently, the sticking of gum on the wall started in the 90's while patrons waited in line to buy theater tickets. It turned into a Seattle tourist attraction.

    That is interesting... My father studied at University of Washington, Seattle 45 years ago...My father still remembered how wonderful the place is.  Even though, my father is very low key ..He is quite famous in both Taiwan and China because of his knowledge and famous officials from both sides are his friends.
    HE WAS INVITED TO White House while president Ford IS IN THE OFFICE, it was first time US president invited a famous Chinese News media person, He is the Editor in Chief Of the China Post and on the 1980 ,his newspaper was in the GUINNESS BOOK OF RECORD as most difficult one to print in Chinese Printing press in computer. He brought in the new technology using computer and revolutionized the old Chinese oversea way,,Both Taiwan and China magazine and filmed him last year...I am very proud of my father...He used to tell us, when he was a college student when Japan tried to invaded China, he use his last dollar of moth allowance just to see the movie..  Love of films pass o to me, I guess.

    Congratulations for the recognition Drummer got from the audience. Can't get a better critic then them.

    The Farmer's Market in Seattle looks a lot nicer than ours.

    Chewing gum wall! Definitely a unique tourist attraction!

    Learn something new everyday, I really love that about life. I'd never seen or heard about the wall of gum in Seatle. Better that than stuck on ppl's shoes lol. Cool pics & thanks for telling about it. :)

    It's so cool how much recognition The Drummer is getting!! and I can't believe I didnt watch it yet!!! haha
    I will buy the Dvd when I am back in Hk this august =)
