Baba Brinkman rocks GROUNDED

ok this is some crazy shit so you gotta check this guy out

Baba Brinkman (check his myspace) is a literary emcee currently touring with his adaptions of Geoffrey Chaucer's "Canterbury Tales"... as a RAP... He recently performed at the Art Studio during the microfest here in Hong Kong and we had the chance to see him perform which was awesome

Basically, while he grew up battling like most emcees he took a shining to old world english literature and has since created rap versions of Chaucer (the father of english literature) and other tales.. managing to retell (translate) 15th century language into todays's pop culture environment.

he makes the comparison that rap today is no different than 15th century story telling, its still about pimps & hoes, money & power.. it always has been, but the real insight is the battling and story telling of old which still exists today

Baba also came to GROUNDED last weekend and jumped the mic for a set with me which was a privilege to say the least..
