Southwark Playhouse re-imagines Shakespeare’s most magical play in Samurai Japan, bringing the mysticism of the East to the atmospheric cellars beneath London Bridge Station.

Inspired by the delights of Japanese Kabuki dance, the grace of Noh theatre and the comedy of knockabout Kyogen clowns this Midsummer Night’s Dream will create a world where the charmed and the charming co-exist.

Packed into 90 minutes this production will combine vibrant verse, striking physical imagery and ensemble performances to breathe life into this most mischievous of plays.

Directed by, innovative British Chinese director Jonathan Man, this year’s winner of the Better Bankside Shakespeare Award.

I am a professional actress based in Hong Kong and London. I have performed in theatre productions both in Hong Kong (HK arts festival/chung ying theatre company) and in Shanghai (with Shanghai Art Centre).The Shanghai production was part of the Royal Shakespeare Company's complete works season in which they sponsored a theatre company from each country to take on one of Shakespeare's play. Our production was KING LEAR set in the Shanghai in the future 2023. I also appeared briefly in RTHK and have performed in several BBC Radio 4 plays in London.

I was born in Hong Kong but grew up in London. I went to Warwick University and trained at drama school -Mountview Academy of Performing Arts in London.

London:
I have worked on television in BBC's'Holby City' in the recurring role Robbie Ling. I have also performed in the West End in the Young Vic production of 'Tin Tin in Tibet'. This year I have kick started with a radio play for BBC radio 4 and am currently performing in a production of William Shakespeare's 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' as Hermia.
