• Kung Fu Master of Masters!

    When I was a kid my brother Mark showed me a movie he really loved, at that time that movie was recorded on VHS tape from the TV and it was dubbed in English.  Years later I shared that same movie with my kung fu school after we did a demonstration it was on a 35 mm print! 
  
   That movie was called The 36 Chambers of Shaolin (少林三十六房) or A.K. A. Master Killer. I remember the opening credits so well !   The top of a bald head of a Shaolin monk dripping with water just before busting out in open hand and weapon forms- that head belonged to Gordon Liu 劉家輝 (Lau Kar-Fai.)  I absolutely cared so much about this movie as it showed a lot about kung fu and also how it should be used!  Not to mention so unique in story telling choices!  You just have to watch it if you haven't. 
  
    A few weeks ago I answered an ad looking for a martial artist and also American or a foreigner.  I thought sounds like a lot of fun. I met with the director Ke Ho, a senior student at Baptist University in the editing room and he started telling me about his little short film.  He was looking for someone to play the role of a foreigner who would do battle with the Sifu!  I was very excited about his movie and said I would take any role he thought fit. 
  
    It was a pleasure to work with Ke Ho and everybody else !  I was thrilled to see Gordon Liu work, he moves like a tiger with lightning speed and strong stance.  And I was also honored to meet Chow Sifu and though I couldn't make out his face at the time since I had not seen a lot of his films but also actor/martial artist Chen Kuan Tai.
