Hey, for those who want some English bad-written sentence, well here it is!
[[[I must say that teachers’ rock!]]]
Been able to work with teenagers is awesome. As a literature professor, my rank of subjects and cultural theme in every class is huge. We talk about music, cinema, books, actual news, economy and ancient history as much as I can. I always merge the issue with actual world’s faces.
For instance: In few weeks we will be checking Romanticism. That’s a perfect time to talk about vampires. I always ask them to dress as vampires, to take the classes in complete black.
So we discuss the genesis of vampires, romanticism and decadence. I get lots of feedback from the guys. The classes become a massive example of well-conducted ideas.
I use to write the info on the whiteboard and then they talk about the relation between those sexy vampires and Lord Byron, Percy Shelley, Eugene Delacroix, Frederic Chopin, George Sand and other XD
It’s a complete pleasure to have such an interesting conversation with my students. I’m really keeping faith on my nation, on its future; although sometimes they act as a bunch of lazy zombies –I mean the teenagers... we’re not talking about government…- but when they get proper sleep and energy, they are the regular good guys that I professionally appreciate.
With time, as lessons gone all the way through, they lose their fears and by the middle, they just talk, as I compel them to do it with no worries.
That’s the very thing I need in order to make decent literature lessons. In order to survive as a polite, skilled teacher.
Anyhow I’m about to get my one-week- evasion-from-labor… that is, vacations.
I’m setting up a perfect week of wandering, valuations, photos and flavorsome cooking.
