Birthdays are loud and frenzied. Mine are usually hushed.
Celebrating a life on planet earth.
27 earth years of surviving the trials and tribulations of life.
27 earth years of living and growing in this leased form of existence.
27 earth years of figuring out what is in store for me in life.
27 earth years of experiences, regrets, joys, sufferings.
27 earth years to respect and love my Maker.
27 earth years to be raised on a platform, and dropped to the lowest depth to test faith and perseverance.
27 earth years in preparation for what lies ahead.
27 earth years of seeing candles lit, an ornament of temporary delight (and calorie count) to the body, a surprise in dyed paper, folks singing a song written by American sisters Patty Hill and Mildred J. Hill (in 1893), a wish or prayer that may or may not have come true, a spread on the dining table that is worth the dedication and support of loving family members and friends, and memories that are kept in photographs (and now Facebook and online blogs).
But most importantly and usually neglected out of sheer ignorance or forgetfulness...
27 earth years of God's grace and faithfulness with no strings attached, for without which I would not be here typing this blog in an office, for a job I did not deserve but gotten being the 3rd successful applicant out of 30, 1 of whom was one of my friends!
Amazing.
So on this 27th birthday, I will exalt my God with praise unusually on this online blog with 27 statements of hallelujah (which actually means "praise God", deriving from the latin word "alleluia" and "הַלְּלוּיָהּ" in Hebrew).
