basketball - trade scenarios

3個評論update: added in a new option #2.
sorry, another boring basketball entry....was thinking of some possible trade scenarios for t-mac.
in every trade scenario, the rockets are gaining a "superstar" in exchange for t-mac's contract (although i think michael redd is not necessarily an upgrade since he's injured about as much as t-mac is). in exchange, the other team gets a mixture of massive cap relief for 2010 and a good young player or two to build around.
here they are in order of how much i like the trade for the rockets:
OPTION 1 (only works if NOR keeps losing):
tracy mcgrady (sg) - 1 yr, $23.2 million
brian cook (pf) - 1 yr, $3.5 million
aaron brooks (pg) - 2 yrs, $3.1 million
chase budinger (sf) - 1 yr(?), $0.7 million
for
chris paul (pg) - 4 yrs, $61.2 million
peja stojakavic (sf) - 2 yrs, $29.5 million
james posey (sf) - 3 yrs, $19.4 million
Rockets Starting Lineup for 2010: Chris Paul (pg), Trevor Ariza (sg), Shane Battier (sf), Luis Scola (pf), Yao Ming (c)
Key Reserves: Kyle Lowry (pg), Peja Stojakavic (sf), James Posey (sf), Carl Landry (pf), Chuck Hayes (pf), David Anderson (c)
Rockets get a superstar point guard to pair with Yao in 2010 and still have most of their role players intact. And Peja looks like he still has a little left in the tank.
New Orleans gets massive cap relief to start over, and can build around Aaron Brooks (pg), Chase Budinger (sf), David West (pf), Andrew Bogut (c).
OPTION 2:
tracy mcgrady (sg) - 1 yr, $23.2 million
chase budinger (sf) - 1 yr(?), $0.7 million
luis scola (pf) - 1 yr, $3.4 million
for
caron butler (sf) - 2 yrs, $20.34 million
antawn jamison (pf) - 3 yrs, $40.1 million
deshawn stevenson (sg) - 2 yrs, $8.0 million
Rockets Starting Lineup for 2010: Aaron Brooks (pg), Trevor Ariza (sg), Caron Butler (sf), Antawn Jamison (pf), Yao Ming (c)
Key Reserves: Kyle Lowry (pg), Deshawn Stevenson (sg), Shane Battier (sf), Carl Landry (pf), Chuck Hayes (pf), David Andersen (c)
Rockets get two former all-stars and overall three players that are still productive and a bit under 30. With this trade, they majorly increase their scoring with a 2010 starting lineup that packs a LOT of firepower, with Yao, Caron, and Antawn all averaging 20+ ppg in recent years.
I actually like this option better than #3 below even though it doesn't net a superstar, because of the scoring punch and depth it gives.
Washington gets massive cap relief to start over, and can build around Gilbert Arenas (pg), Nick Young (sg), Chase Budinger (sf), and Andray Blatche (fc).
OPTION 3 (only works if TOR keeps losing):
tracy mcgrady (sg) - 1 yr, $23.2 million
aaron brooks (pg) - 2 yrs, $3.1 million
luis scola (pf) - 1 yr, $3.4 million
for
chris bosh (pf) - 2 yrs, $32.9 million
jose calderon (pg) - 4 yrs, $37.6 million
jarrett jack (sg) - 4 yrs, $20.2 million
Rockets Starting Lineup for 2010: Jose Calderon (pg), Trevor Ariza (sg), Shane Battier (sf), Chris Bosh (pf), Yao Ming (c)
Key Reserves: Kyle Lowry (pg), Jarrett Jack (sg), Chase Budinger (sf), Carl Landry (pf), Chuck Hayes (pf), David Andersen (c)
Rockets get a superstar power forward (Bosh) to pair with Yao in 2010, a decent player in Jose Calderon, and still keep most of their role players intact.
Toronto gets massive cap relief to start over, and can build around Aaron Brooks (pg), Hedo Turkoglu (sf), and Andrea Barginani (c).
OPTION 4 (only works if SAC keeps winning w/o martin):
tracy mcgrady (sg) - 1 yr, $23.2 million
chase budinger (sf) - 1 yr(?), $0.7 million
for
kevin martin (sg) - 4 yrs, $46.2 million
andreas nocioni (sf) - 3 yrs, $21 million
beno udrih (pg) - 4 yrs, $27.7 million
Rockets Starting Lineup for 2010: Aaron Brooks (pg), Kevin Martin (sg), Trevor Ariza (sf), Luis Scola (pf), Yao Ming (c)
Key Reserves: Kyle Lowry (pg), Beno Udrih (pg), Andreas Nocioni (sf), Shane Battier (sf), Carl Landry (pf), Chuck Hayes (pf), David Andersen (c)
Rockets get a very good shooting guard (Martin) and two decent pieces while keeping most of their role players intact.
Sacramento gets massive cap relief and removes one of the point guards, freeing up more time for Tyreke Evans. Can build around Tyreke Evans (pg), Chase Budinger (sf), Spencer Hawes (c), and others.
OPTION 5 (only works if MIL keeps winning w/o redd):
tracy mcgrady (sg) - 1 yr, $23.2 million
for
michael redd (sg) - 2 yrs, $35.3 million
dan gadzuric (c) - 2 yrs, $14.0 million
Rockets Starting Lineup for 2010: Aaron Brooks (pg), Michael Redd (sg), Trevor Ariza (sf), Luis Scola (pf), Yao Ming (c)
Key Reserves: Kyle Lowry (pg), Chase Budinger (sf), Carl Landry (pf), Chuck Hayes (pf), David Andersen (c)
Not the best trade for the Rockets. They get another oft-injured shooting guard back for McGrady and a not-very-useful center. The main question is how good of a player is Redd now vs Tmac?
Great deal for the Bucks. They get massive cap relief and can try to pair Brandon Jennings with another great player in 2010.
