  • Table Tennis Women Final: China 3 China 0

    Saw this caption on my bro Msn ” China 3 China 0 ; Gold medal to China, Silver medal to China.”

    Obviously what he was refering was the “Biggest match in Singapore’s Olympics History” , the Gold medal match between China and Singapore Women Table Tennis team event.

    No contest as Singapore bowed out to China in less than 2 hrs.

    What sadden me, and maybe a fraction of the Singaporeans is the fact there aren’t even a single Singaporean born SINGAPOREAN in the Table Tennis Women Team.

    Yes, our flags are flying high on the Olympics podium since 1960 but what set me thinking is ” Are we really proud of it?”

    There is only one winner : The chinese

    people mentioned this about the US table tennis team too... in fact almost all the top table tennis teams are comprised of former Chinese althletes who have emmigrated to other countries.

    as an American though, we are a nation of immigrants, so I think we don't mind as much,  we are proud that they are competing on our behalf...
