    我崇拜的演員有很多...但在這些偶像之中，我最喜歡的是Christian Bale。很多人現在知道他是扮演蝙蝠俠的...然而真正使他一躍進入公眾視線的是他在美國精神病人裡投入的演出。甚至是在才13歲的時候，因為出演了 Steven Spielberg 的電影《太陽帝國》，他已經被認定為一個偉大的演員。

    他之所以是我最喜歡的演員，其中一個原因是他對於自己塑造的角色的熱愛，以及想成為那個人物的慾望。作為一個長相帥氣的實力派演員，他有很多的角色可以演...但他總是選擇自己喜歡的，而且能夠完全進入角色的人物來演。其實，他並不是真正為了名氣或其他什麼而從事這一行...他甚至並不太喜歡聚光燈下的感覺。直到最近，他才放開胸懷，接受這些是娛樂事業的一部分。即使是已經擁有蝙蝠俠帶來的名氣，一旦遇到他感興趣，而且有挑戰性的角色，他還是想要接拍一些低成本的獨立電影。他不僅僅是個非常棒的演員，我還很喜歡他運用和控制聲音的方式。他能夠裝出很多種不同的口音，而且他一說話，我就感覺很想听。演員能做到這一點，就會被喜歡。一開口，可以吸引你將身體湊過去，來更好地、更仔細地吸收他所說的。(雖然我覺得在《黑闇騎士》裡面，這一點被破壞了，因為穿上蝙蝠俠的戲服之後，他們用了一些數字技術來加強他的聲音。而在《蝙蝠俠前傳》裡面，才是最完美的。你可以感覺出蝙蝠俠的野性，那也正是我所認識的蝙蝠俠應有的形象。)另一個重要的原因就是，他對於角色的決心和獻身精神。

    這是他在《美國精神病人》裡的造型，那時可能是他身形最好的時候。

     

     

    之後他拍了一部叫做《機械師》的電影。那時他剩下120磅。不僅僅是這一點危害到他的健康，由於預算的問題，製作時間延長，讓他不得不更長時間處在這個狀態。

     

     

    在《機械師》結束的時候，Christopher Nolan 將 Christian Bale 列入了蝙蝠俠的演員陣容，而且讓他為這個角色變得盡可能地強壯。他有六個月的時間。開始的時候，他連做一個俯臥撑的力氣都沒有。就在拍攝快要開始的時候，Christian Bale 增肥100磅，又顯得太胖了。 Christopher Nolan 只能讓他再減一點。哈哈。

    《蝙蝠俠前傳》之後，他接拍了另一部電影《重見天日》。他又開始減肥了。黑闇騎士的時候，又要再胖回來。我的意思是，拜託...一個人能承受多少這樣的折騰？我曾經看到說他不怎麼喜歡做體育運動。他比較喜歡正常的，一杯啤酒的生活。所以，對於一個為了角色犧牲這麼多的人...你只能尊敬他們。但是經歷那麼多次??而且如此大起大落???我能說的只有...哇！

    像他一樣，我也不太喜歡聚光燈下的生活。我只是想做有意思的角色，然後去扮演某個人，一個和我不一樣的人.....去做我不能做的，或者不可以經常做的事。這就是為什麼我喜歡我現在的職業，以及我最喜歡 Christian Bale 的原因。

    哦...另一個讓我喜歡他的原因是...他看起來很愛他的妻子，而且對她很忠誠。我的意思是，作為一個巨星，而且又英俊不凡，真的不多見。我只見過兩個這樣的人...一個就是 Christian Bale...另一個是謝霆鋒。他還很喜歡小動物。他的兩隻小狗和三隻小貓全是他收養的流浪動物。

    謝謝你給我靈感，Bale先生。我祝愿你的演繹生涯越來越精彩...這樣的話它會成為寶貴的遺產，而不是被遺忘。

    I really admire Christian Bale as well. I mean he's had some pretty goofy/embarrassing roles (ever heard of Newsies). But what I think is even more admirable than his acting talent is that he's humble and refuses to be embarrassed by those roles. I think it's great of him to say "like it or not, I wouldn't be here without it, and we all had fun doing it, so there!"

    All three pics are the same guy?  If so, that is serious dedication to a role.  I think its great when an actor goes beyond the norm to make a movie more real.  Great Blog :)

    Wow~ Thats so sweet. I find it really appealing when guys like animals, especially cats because people usually say cats are for girls and dogs are for guys. I take in stray cats too, now I'm loaded with them *.*

    i got a friend at work who looks just like him in 3:10 to yuma...with a that long hair and mustasch..one of the best actor in the industry..

    Great blog Sammy.. I love Christian Bale in American Psycho, that was an awesome movie and he is an inspiring actor!

    I adore Christian Bale! He's not my favourite, but he's VERY high up the list. Ever since "Empire of the Sun" I've seen all his movies. The fact that he's from Wales originally and now is the big movie star in Hollywood shows how far one person can get. And he's president of an animal welfare organisation which is always laudable. Men who are kind to animals are very rarely bad people.
    The scene in "Dark Knight" where Batman stand over the rooftops of Hong Kong made my heart sing: two of my passions combined!!!

    One of my favorite actors too that I've blogged about. Seems extremely dedicated to his craft. Prestige is an amazing movie and another collaboration with C. Nolan.

    Hi Sammy, of all his films I loved Equilibrium the most. It's a great story, quite dark, but excellent Direction too. Btw some friends from my old Wushu club were the Ninjas in Batman Begins ;)

    Respect. I totally agree that taking up interesting roles will be more satisfying than trying to plan out a career to be a 'celebrity'.

    I absolutely agree Christian Bale is one of the best actors of all time. It's unfortunate he's underrated but he's the man!

    For a moment, I thought Christan Bale joined Alive Not Dead.

    Yeah, I would agree with the greatness of Bale and his acting.  One of the few younger actors who will rightfully take up the mantle of the DeNiros, the Newmans, the Nicholsons and not the likes of the Damons, the Will Smiths, the DiCaprios instead . . . it's Christian Bale that'll be the one doing a Sean Connery from 007 to "The Untouchables" career.

    I remember Bale from "Empire of the Sun."  I remember thinking, if the film industry doesn't groom this kid to become a lead actor in feature films, then, something's wrong.  Glad I didn't have to worry about that in the long run.

    Looking forward to some more great Bale films
