y ahora se' que tengo mis propias rai'ces
* and now I know that I have my own roots
NO NELUAYO UAN NO TLAJLAMIKILIS.
y mi propio pensamiento.
* and my own thought.

NA NI INDIO:
Yo soy indio:
* I am Indian:
UAN NAMAJ NIJ MATI PARA NIJ PIXTOK
y ahora se' que tengo mi propio rostro
* and now I know that I have my own face,
NO IXAYAK, NO TLACHIALIS UAN NO NEMILIS.
mi propia mirada, y mi propio sentimiento.
* my own eyesight, and my own feelings.

NA NI INDIO:

* I am Indian:
UAN NAMAJ NIJ MATI MELAUAK NI MEJIKANO
y ahora se' que soy verdaderamente mexicano
* and now I know that I am truly Mexican
PAMPA NI TLAJTOUA MEJIKANO, TLEN ININTLAJTOL NOKOLUAJ.
porque hablo el idioma mexicano, la lengua de mis abuelos.
* because I speak the Mexican language, the tongue of my ancestors.

UAN NAMAJ TLAUEL NI YOLPAKI
y ahora se alegra mucho mi corazo'n
* and now my heart becomes so happy
PAMPA UALAJ SE YANKUIK TONATIJ, SE YANKUIK TLANEXTLI
porque viene un nuevo di'a, un nuevo amanecer.
* because a new day is coming, a new sunrise.

UAN NAMAJ NIJ MACHILIA TLAMISA KUESOLI,
y ahora siento que pronto acabara' esta tristeza,
* and now I feel this sadness will soon end,
SAMPA UELIS NIYOLPAKIS UAN NIMOYOLCHIKAUAS.
otra vez podra' rei'r mi corazo'n y ser ma's fuerte.
* and once again my heart can smile and be stronger.

y ahora puedo contemplar la belleza de la danza,
* and now I can contemplate the beauty of the dance,
AYAKACHTLATSOTSONTLI UAN XOCHITLATSOTSONTLI.
y escuchar la mu'sica y el canto.
* and listen to the music and the singing.

y ahora puedo ver y escuchar
* and now I can see and listen
UAN NIKINTLAKAKILIA UEUETLAKAMEJ.
nuevamente a los ancianos.
* again to the elders.

UAN NAMAJ SAMPA NECH NELUAYOTIA TLALTIPAKTLI,
y ahora vuelve a enraizarme la tierra,
* and now I am rooted again in the land,
TONANA TLALTIPAKTLI.
nuestra madre tierra.
* our mother land.
