Off to HK again!

3個評論I was HK once more from 24th to 29th of Jan... partly researching and thinking for/about my new book set there, called THE STORY OF LEE (to be published by the well respected NBM Publishing Inc, in the USA).
I took lots of photos there for THE STORY OF LEE book - from the obvious things like the skyline at Central, to the rarer aspects like a little street market in Chai wan. In that market I got an idea for the cover of the book too. There was a small stall selling some fried or grilled food, and it had its own light in the darkness (photo below). It occured to me that the scene and people's faces crowded round that little light looked like the chiaroscuro, light and shadow painting's of Caravaggio etc. So I may make a version of that as the cover for the book.
(the page here from the story is from volume 2, where Lee goes to the UK with her British boyfriend, art by Yishan Li. Though the artist I am working with now on it is Chie Kutsuwada).
