To live is to die

~To live is to die~

I'm losing my grip on this life
It's not because I'm letting go
It's all the blood on the line
My hands are worn to the bone

The weathered man has the best insight
He's been down the worst roads
He's had to struggle and to fight
Within him is the striving soul

Tears roll down my cheeks
And I look towards the sky
I hope the clouds will break
So the rain will hide my struggling faith

I've got to die to live and then die again
My body won't make it through this life
This I know and this I hold true
That when I lay down in the mud
When I breathe out my soul
I'll leave my decaying body
For this decaying world
