Those kids made a stupid thing but I think that the punishment should have been different than a slap in the face... Maybe clean up the mess they did? Adults has no right to hit a child in any of circumstances.

Of course the kids shouldn't have smashed the egg and sprayed the shaving cream, but it sounds like the adults were pretty childish in refusing them sweets.  And you should NEVER slap or hit a child... your own or someone elses.

hehehe, interesting situation, both parts have the rigth,  but fortunately or unfortunately we have laws for follow,  we can´t do that we believe is the correct, and either can educate other people´s children,  i think  sometimes we take bad desitions and we have to assume the counsecuencies of it, this is an interesting case, because there is a lot of variants for discuss , but my partial and particular opinion is in none of the cases  violence is the rigth answer,  never will do,  never versus a kid. kid needs love an patience and some tug of ears certainly, but only of her mom. hehe thanks for share.
