cranes heading south

When I came home from work just driving on the yard behind our house to put my bike in the garage I heard some low but familiar bird cries. I looked up to the sky and saw a big group of cranes heading southward. It was a really beautifull sight to see them up in the sky coloured by the sundown...

My mother told me about it just a few days ago, but it was the first time I saw them this year because the usually pass our valley around noon or early afternoon...

They are pretty late this year but just one day ago it started getting cold from northern winds, which they need for continuing their migration in the autumn...but they also need clear weather to get good thermic conditions...
