Thomas Lui was born in Hong Kong. Nurturing an affinity and love for art all through his youth, Thomas began to pursue his passion in earnest upon completing high school in 2004. In 2006, he dedicated himself to the study of photography in both academic and real-world settings, actively engaging in Hong Kong's vibrant fashion scene as a photographer and retoucher.
Playing with light and shadow, Thomas creates an image that goes beyond the traditional two-dimensional picture. His goal is to translate subliminal aesthetic forms into photographs that are timelessly beautiful. Thomas' experiences in working with other cutting-edge photographers in Hong Kong have heightened his approach to the finer sensibilities of photography and have motivated him to always strive for the perfect shot.
Thomas has also built up his experience in post-production, contributing his design and retouching skills to the campaign efforts of international luxury brands including Bulgari, Dior, Gucci, and Vivienne Westwood, among many others. His work has appeared in a number of leading publications including Bazaar, Cosmopolitan, Prestige, Baccarat, and Hong Kong Tatler.
