Over the last 2 and half years, Arun R has had his name explode in the Hong Kong club scene, building up a reputation for delivering quality house music. His style has developed into what is highly sought after by prestigious venues in the city – he is able to take his crowds through journeys of Afro-Latin influenced house to a peak of deep and melodic progressions, all framed by jackin’ beats and basslines.
Known to create a live and vibrant atmosphere with his music, it doesn’t matter whether Arun plays at a club, lounge or open-air gig; he is always able to personify his musical presence with an audience, bringing out the essential groove in anyone.
From 2007 onwards, Arun started to travel around China performing at venues in Zhongshan, Jinan, Guangzhou, Shanghai, as well as being invited to play at Elevate (India), voted 35th best Club in the world by DJ Magazine. He has graced the decks for prestigious events like Hed Kandi, Ministry of Sound Sessions, and Renaissance Digital Asia Tour and Funky 4 Love, and has the opportunity to play alongside international DJs such as Paulo Mojo, Alex Botar (Diva La Disco), Andy Warburton, Luke Neville, Dennis Christopher (Beatfreakz), Dylan Barnes (Mutiny), Andy Norman, Patrick Hagenaar, Lewis Boardman and voted no.1 DJ in the world - Tiesto. Arun has earned appraisal from some of the above names as ‘the perfect warm-up DJ’.
He has been invited to play at most key venues in the city, including internationally renowned M1NT (1st Anniversary), Drop (Guest DJ), Solas (Monthly), Volar (Guest DJ), Club JJs (Guest DJ), Homebase (Weekly) and the trendy Evisu Baru (Guest DJ). 2008 promises to be even busier in Hong Kong – with several major events lined up for the year and new residencies both in the city and overseas.
Currently working with Entertaining Asia, he is also an Artist and Events Manager looking after a local DJ roster and handling events, bookings and venue music policies during the day.
