'Mad Detective' stars Lau Chingwan and Andy On and tells the story of a mentally unbalanced former detective who can see people's inner personalities as if they were real people interactiving with the real world. The film is rated category 3 (adults only) due to violence and blood, which makes the box office achievement even more notable.
Variety's coverage notes that the film has not sold distribution rights to Taiwan yet, nor has it been cleared for screening in Mainland China however.
