Pyongyang International Film Festival Opens

The 11th Pyongyang International Film Festival was inaugurated Wednesday at the capital city of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).  A total of 29 feature and documentary films from over 40 countries will compete for the "torch prize" of the film festival. More than 110 films will be screened during the festival. Chinese films "Assembly," "A Railway in the Cloud" and documentary "The Imperial Garden" will take part in the competition. The bi-annual Pyongyang International Film Festival has been held since 1987. This festival was due to be closed on Sept. 26.
