Moose is the grand-daddy of reverse graffiti. He’s been cleaning the streets of the UK and beyond for around ten years.Using detergent and a wire brush, the tools of many a cleaner, he works with advertisers to create innovative clean messages and slogans that inevitably turn into works of art. One of his more recent works, the Reverse Graffiti Project, was on San Francisco’s Broadway tunnel in conjunction with Green Works, to promote a plant-based cleaner.

I like the message of this artist's reality--artists are everywhere, even in places the general public and especially the art establishment tell you there are none--among janitors!

I honestly believe that there are artists everywhere among us and, just by looking at someone and their job, you cannot tell who is an artist and who is not.  I don't tell the people I work with I'm a writer (and specifically, a poet).  Why would I?  It has nothing to do with my job (except that I am the best writer in the office--and I am the office assistant).  No one I work with cares about these things.  (Actually, no one cares about poetry here in the US, not just the people I work with.)  I don't write for them, I write because I have to, not because I even think anyone will read my poems--most of the time they will not--and, even if they read them, they probably won't understand them.  If I write a poem about death, dreams or the subjectivity of good and evil, and this is not something you put much energy into thinking about, why would you care about a poem on those topics?  So, we are out there, we are creating art even if no one cares, and I don't imagine we are going to stop anytime soon.  If someone recognizes what we are doing and assigns value to it, I guess that would be nice and we might get a larger audience for what we do.  But even if no one cares, we won't stop, not today, not tomorrow, not next week.  Even if one of us stops creating art, someone else will take our place.  The necessity to create art is one of the human race's greatest gifts to the world.  It just might save us all in the end.
