It is very hard to convince myself to finish such a film, only one word could be used to describe this excellent work: hollow. The picture is pretty, but the film itself is quite dull and boring.
Actually, Feng is not too bad as a director. Some of his films make a mockery of Chinese social problems, and we could find some comedic elements in them. For all the directors, they are itching to try some new concepts, such is human nature. However, the great success will never belong to a utilitarian.
