Hi, everyone, I'm back from Taiwan
. Very tired...........
We went back to pack all our things in our Taipei apartment, cos my E's colleague ( a single lady) is going to rent our apartment when she's back to Taipei by the end of this month. She has worked in SZ for a year. So we packed 13 boxes and shipped to SZ ( I think I can get these next week); 8 boxes of books + 4 boxes of misc. things + a big wedding photo frame + 2 golf sets - to my E's parents home; 5 boxes to my Mom's home; we bought 4 baggages with us to SZ; plus I think we throw away at least 30 garage bags of unused/ old-fashioned things........this is the most tiring part
, I need to think "do I still need this? Is it old-fashioned?" But on the last days, I just throw the things in the drawers that I seldom opened in the last 2 years. I was so tired to even look at it
.
I remember I've watched a TV show in US (many years ago); the hostess taught people how to re-organized their home, to make it clean and tidy. She said, " put all the unused things in a box, taped it and marked down the date you've sealed it. If you didn't open it in 2 years, you can just throw the entire box away without even looking at it." For example, if you have sealed a box with your misc. things in the year of 2004, and now it's the year of 2007, and you didn't open it, you can just throw it away without looking what's inside (cos you'll feel bad and want to keep the unused things for another 2 years...).
We stayed in Taiwan for 5 days, we only went out to buy food, other times, packing, packing, throwing, throwing......
my E and I have one agreement - no more shopping! Use/ wear what you've bought; otherwise, it'll turn old, yellow (humid in Taipei).
......just shop what you need!
